Where neither pathway is realistically accessible to a customer, it’s worth being honest that disposal alongside general waste, while not ideal, doesn’t undo the other real benefits of choosing compostable packaging in the first place, avoiding persistent microplastic pollution being the main one, even if the specific composting outcome doesn’t happen for that particular item.
