In a managed composting environment, our material is metabolised by microbes, fragmenting, then breaking down to CO₂, water, and humus. No fragments. No toxic residue. The same cannot be said for the alternative.

Read the label

"Biodegradable" is not "compostable."

The distinction is the entire point. One is a marketing word. The other is a measurable, certified outcome.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is compostable packaging?
Compostable packaging is made from materials that break down into water, carbon dioxide and nutrient-rich humus under composting conditions, instead of fragmenting into microplastics. A genuine compostable claim needs certification, which in India means IS 17088. Read the full guide.
Is compostable the same as biodegradable?
No. “Biodegradable” has no fixed timeframe or test, so it is a broad marketing word. “Compostable” is a certified outcome with defined breakdown times and limits. Compostable vs biodegradable: the real difference.
Which certifications do Packin Club products carry?
Packin Club products are made to IS 17088, the Indian standard for compostable plastics, and are CPCB certified. Certificates are shared on request through the contact page. What IS 17088 means.
How long does it take to compost?
Our specification states that products return to soil within 240 days in industrial composting. They are designed for managed, industrial composting facilities, so the actual time depends on the temperature, moisture and conditions of the facility.
